Product Info and Usage Guidelines
The TIP is the pure silver disk on the end of the unit. It is approximately 1⁄4 inch in diameter and is the surface that you use to treat your skin. The CONTACT PLATE is the rectangular stainless steel plate on the side of the unit. The LED is the green indicator light.
Basic Instructions for Use
Before you begin treatment, clean the area of skin using soap and water.
Gently clean the silver tip using the emery board only. Apply a thin, even layer of silver conductive gel to the silver tip. Also apply a small dab of silver conductive gel to the finger you will use to hold the unit. Hold the case so that the finger with the conductive gel presses firmly against the stainless steel contact plate.
Press the silver tip to the area you wish to treat. The green LED indicator will flash when the device is activated and working. You will not feel any sensation from the unit even though it is operating effectively.
Each individual is unique and you will determine the best treatment routine for your own situation. In some situations, you may want to test slightly longer treatment times for a more aggressive treatment. You may also use shorter treatment times if that works well for you. DermaSeptic is very safe for a wide variety of treatment times.
Cold Sores and Other Herpes Virus Outbreaks
These are best treated at their earliest stage, before they break the skin. Once they have created a sore, the natural healing process required to rebuild the skin will take a couple of days.
When treated early, the lesions will generally not develop into the open sore stage. In some cases, another site may develop within hours of the first sites remission. Should this occur, immediately begin treating the new site with more frequent applications per day, as this new site will now exhibit an accelerated cycle.
Recommended Dosage: 5 minutes every 3 hours until the inflammation ceases. Once the inflammation has subsided, the frequency of treatment can be reduced.
Since cold sores tend to occur on relatively soft tissue, a temporary brown-ish discoloration of the treated tissue may occur. This is not harmful and will disappear naturally in a couple of days.
Warts
Since these maladies, by their very nature have a notable amount of tissue built up, it will take your body some time (after the virus is gone) to reduce the tissue mass.
Warts can take up to a month to fully disappear. Prepare the wart for treatment by removing wart tissue with a dissolving product and soften the area by soaking or warm compress. These steps will increase the depth of penetration for the DermaSeptic and allows more effective reduction of the virus with each treatment.
Recommended Dosage: 10 minutes twice a day until the tenderness or growth stops.
Acne
Acne can be treated effectively with the DermaSeptic. It is best if the tip contacts only the top of the blemish and not the surrounding skin. If it contacts the surrounding skin it could leave a small, temporary discoloration. This will disappear in a day or so.
Recommended Dosage: We recommend you do a test treatment on one or two spots before treating a large area. This will help you determine how your skin type reacts to treatment time. Guideline treatment time is 3 minutes twice a day until the blemish disappears.
Other Skin Conditions
Users of the DermaSeptic have reported excellent results on other viral or bacterial skin conditions ranging from fungus to rashes. When treating a condition not outlined in these instructions, simply treat a small area at regular intervals for a short period of time and monitor progress. If the area that you are treating shows improvement with respect to the untreated area, apply the standard procedure to the remainder of the affected area.
Solving Problems
If the indicator light does not flash:
- Make sure the silver tip is bright and shiny (use emery board provided) and the stainless contact plate is clean.
- Make sure you are using a thin, even layer of Klear Gel silver conductive gel. Too much gel may interfere with conductivity.
- Make sure your finger is seated snugly on the stainless steel contact plate during treatments.
- Make sure the skin being treated is clean. Soaking or warm compress prior to treatment helps the skin be more conductive.
- Make sure the battery is functioning by doing The Tongue Test described below.
The Tongue Test: Since the tongue is one of the most conductive areas of skin, it is an ideal place to test DermaSeptic. Prepare the unit as you would for a normal treatment, then place the pure silver tip on your tongue. If the light does not flash (or flashes very rapidly), it’s time to replace the battery.

Maintenance
DermaSeptic requires only that the silver tip and stainless contact plate be kept clean. The silver tip should be lightly abraded with the emery board provided. (DO NOT use steel wool or any emery board that contains other than flint or silica as other materials will interfere with the silver’s anti-microbial properties.) The stainless steel contact plate can usually be kept clean with a damp towel.
Do not submerge the unit in water!
The battery will last up to a year. Steps to replace the battery:
- Unscrew the silver tip by hand.
- Unscrew the stainless contact plate.
- Open the case.
- Lift the circuit board out of the case by prying it with a small screwdriver. The circuit board is sturdy but use normal care.
- Slip the old battery out of its holder and slip the new one in.
The battery type is an inexpensive 3v Lithium Cell CR2032. Most stores that sell batteries have them and they can also be ordered from Dermaseptic.
